This past year has shown us a lot, it has been stressful and trying for so many. And one thing I have noticed over all these years is that when people get stressed out, they begin to strip away what they think is unnecessary from their lives. Anything taking up precious time that they ‘do not need’.
But the things that are getting taken away are usually the things you enjoy the most; exercise or pampering yourself as in getting your nails done, a massage or meditation.
Some of these practices have intangible benefits. But just because you cannot see it, does not make it less important. Both exercise and meditation help to reduce stress, improve sleep, help with blood pressure and promotes emotional health to name a few! Anything you do that brings you joy is good for you.
Remember to slow down and take some time for yourself, you are important and you should be a priority. Your issues or problems won’t go away by stopping engaging in what you love to do, so make sure you are equipped to deal with everything life has to offer by being kind to yourself and giving yourself what you need.
