Any of you ladies out there eating fat free foods?
Did you know that eating healthy fats helps regulate your food cravings? It can also help you feel fuller for longer. Your body needs fat to absorb certain vitamins like A, D, K and E. It helps fight wrinkles and keeps your metabolism going strong. And it plays a critical role in brain function.
Now…think about your fat free mayonnaise (if you’re using one of course). Mayo is made from egg yolk, oil and maybe some lemon, vinegar or mustard, it’s almost all fat. The fat has to be replaced with something, and it’s usually gums, sugars and starches. Read the labels, see what you are eating.
Here are a few problems associated with a healthy fat deficiency: dry skin, eczema, low energy, problems with kidney functions, slow wound healing, vision and learning difficulties and depression. A low fat diet has also been associated with a higher risk of suicide.
Here are some fats that are good to eat, extra virgin olive oil, unrefined flax seen oil, walnut oil, organic butter, omega 3’s from fish and avocados.
Try to keep a healthy balance of fat and calories, your body needs it to function properly and be healthy.
And good health is beautiful!
